James Johnson and Judy Doyle started Strings N’ Things in 1991 in response to the need for an affordable professional violin shop in Cincinnati. From our modest beginnings in a small office, where we dealt with a primarily local clientele, the business has expanded significantly. We now occupy an entire building in Anderson Township. We cater to many local and national customers.

We have traveled widely, both at home and abroad, to acquire the best possible instruments, bows and accessories for our shop. As we have identified new products which we feel would be helpful, we have added them to our inventory, providing a great resource for players and teachers. We can supply everything that a string player needs to be successful.

James passed away in 2022. The shop will continue operating under Judy’s management. Michael Thompson, a talented luthier and stringed instrument maker, will be doing repairs, setups, restorations and bow re-hairs.
